Mental Health Treatment for Veterans | Resilience Illinois
Serving Those Who Served: Authorized VA Community Care Network Provider in Illinois

Mental Health Treatment for Veterans

Resilience Illinois offers specialized clinical care for veterans, bridging the gap between military service and civilian wellness.

Specialized Care Beyond the VA

Accessing mental health treatment for veterans shouldn't be a battle. While the VA provides excellent resources, wait times and distance can often be barriers. Through the VA Community Care Network (CCN), eligible veterans can receive authorized treatment at Resilience Illinois. We specialize in evidence-based modalities like CPT, PE, and EMDR to address the unique psychological impacts of service.

Comprehensive Veteran Support

PTSD & Trauma Recovery

Utilizing the gold-standard therapies (CPT and Prolonged Exposure) specifically recommended for combat-related trauma.

TBI & Neurocognitive Care

Integrated treatment plans for veterans managing the dual challenges of traumatic brain injury and mood disorders.

Transition & Integration

Therapeutic support for navigating the "cultural clash" of civilian life, identity loss, and relationship strain.

How to Access Community Care

1
Check Eligibility: You qualify if VA wait times exceed 20 days or drive times exceed 30 minutes.
2
Request Resilience: Ask your VA Primary Care Provider or Mental Health Coordinator for a referral to Resilience Illinois.
3
Authorization: The VA issues a "Standardized Episode of Care" (SEOC) to our facility.
4
Intake: Meet with a veteran-centric clinician who understands military culture and your specific goals.
5
Coordinated Care: we share progress notes with your VA team to ensure seamless medical continuity.
VETERAN PRO-TIP: If you are in immediate crisis, you do not need a referral. You can go to any community emergency room under the COMPACT Act, and the VA will cover the cost of stabilized emergency mental health care.
COMMON PITFALL: "Expired SEOCs." VA referrals are often time-limited (e.g., 1 year). Always check your authorization dates with our front desk to ensure your sessions remain 100% covered.

Veteran Care FAQ

Will I have a copay for community mental health care?

Most veterans with service-connected disabilities or those meeting low-income thresholds have $0 copays for authorized community outpatient mental health.

Does seeing a private doctor affect my disability rating?

No. Seeking treatment is seen as a positive step toward wellness. Our records are confidential, though we provide progress updates to the VA to ensure care coordination.
