Resilience Illinois offers authorized Partial Hospitalization (PHP) for those needing intensive day-time clinical support.

What is TRICARE Partial Hospitalization (PHP)?

TRICARE PHP mental health is a highly structured program providing 6+ hours of clinical treatment per day, 5 days a week. It serves as a middle ground for military members and families who need more than weekly therapy but do not require 24-hour medical supervision. At Resilience Illinois, our PHP is designed to provide intensive стабилизация (stabilization) while allowing you to return home each evening.

Path to PHP Authorization

Clinical Assessment: A provider determines that standard outpatient care is insufficient for your safety or progress.

Prior Authorization: Unlike standard therapy, PHP always requires prior authorization from TRICARE.

Facility Screening: Resilience Illinois conducts a pre-admission screening to ensure PHP is the right fit.

Admission: Once approved, you begin the daily program (typically 0900 to 1500).

Concurrent Review: We provide regular updates to TRICARE to maintain your intensive authorization.
PHP PRO-TIP: TRICARE covers PHP only when the program is "medically necessary." If you are an active-duty member, your command must be involved in the approval process to ensure your duty status is protected during the 30-45 day program.
COMMON PITFALL: "Self-Referral Denials." You cannot self-refer into PHP and expect TRICARE to pay. A medical professional must document that you meet "Inpatient Level of Care" criteria but can be safely managed in a day program.
